In 2022, Leigo Festival entrusted its artistic vision and programming to three renowned conductors: Neeme Järvi, Paavo Järvi, and Kristjan Järvi. The Järvi family holds a special relationship with both the festival and the natural setting of Leigo. Drawing inspiration from Southern Estonia's lush and wild landscape, as well as their personal favorites over their careers, the trio crafted the festival's program. The two-day event took place on August 12-13 under the theme "Nordic Journey with the Järvis."
August 12, titled "Forest," featured a concert journey through the woods, weaving Estonian composers' music with light art, and showcased performances on various natural stages by soloists and quartets. The details of the concept were in development.
August 13, titled "Lake," spotlighted the Järvi Instrumentalists along with special guests. The program also included a world premiere of a new piece by Kristjan Järvi, and other compositions dedicated to Neeme Järvi, performed by the Estonian National Symphony Orchestra and the Estonian National Male Choir, conducted by the Järvis. The repertoire was a mix of works from composers like Arvo Pärt, Veljo Tormis, and Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, among others.
